Tina Russell
Professional Conduct & Ethics Lead
With over 25 years work experience, Tina has worked across private, public and charitable sectors including financial services, law and accountancy firms. For the last 19 years Tina has worked in the professional membership sector, serving as Council Members, Board Member and Professional Services Conduct Committee Member for a range of professional membership organisations.
As Professional Conduct and Ethics Lead at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), Tina Russell leads work on supporting ethical practice and the implementation of the CIPD Code of Conduct and Ethics. In 2022 Tina ran a public consultation to review the Code and subsequently developed an updated Code of Conduct and Ethics. The new Code has a more people centred, output focus and includes new clauses on social media, good character and civic virtue and stewardship. Reviewing complaints of alleged breaches of the Code, managing investigations and disciplinary hearings. Tina is also responsible for the management of over 90 volunteers. Identifying insights from complaints and cases, Tina contributes to the development of the Institute’s standards balancing a range of stakeholder and public interest.
In a previous role at the CIPD Tina managed membership upgrading and CPD. This included developing, launching and implementing the Academic Membership route – which now has over 450 members.
